In 2017, Indivisible San Juan Island (ISJI) joined forces as a local group of the national grassroots efforts of Indivisible.org to amplify our community’s voices.

In 2025, a new local group of organizers grabbed the baton to help promote issues on the national level, and state level as appropriate, by making our political priorities known to our Senators and Representatives. Our group aims to help educate our friends and neighbors by encouraging and simplifying citizen engagement.

1. Prepare to retake Democratic majorities in the House and Senate in 2026
2. Minimize the damage the Trump Administration does.

      Threats to access to the courts and legal representation

        Failure of DHS to adhere to the Constitution

          Threats of equal protection, including challenges to affirmative action and DEI initiatives.

          Attempts to bypass Senate confirmation.

              Gutting or repealing specific acts and agencies, such as: Affordable Care Act, SSA, Medicare and Medicaid, ADA, CFPB

              Gutting or repealing specific acts and agencies such as: National Parks, National Forests, National Wildlife Refuges. CBP, NPR, NEA, NEH, DOE, Smithsonian, Fulbright.

              Diminishing the role of science in agencies.

                Severing the independence of agencies from the executive branch.

                Harming international relations, e.g., withdrawing from: The Paris Accord, NATO, WHO.

                Acting in ways leading to financial collapse, e.g.: Virtually anything involving crypto, Interfering with the Federal Reserve, and Corrupting federal financial practices.
